We at Bob The Builder, Inc. are available to answer your questions about how we can best serve you. We've compiled a list of the most common questions we get. Feel free to call us at (219) 299-0136.
One of the simplest ways to check is to go to your attic and see if sunlight is shining through. Other signs you can look for include dark spots or streaks on the ceiling, areas where the roof sags or slopes, or any signs of water damage.
Your insurance company cannot cancel your policy or raise your rates on the basis of filing a claim for storm damage. Insurance companies, however, will raise rates in your area if many people are filing claims all at the same time. Also, be aware that insurance rates can always fluctuate whether you file a claim or not. If you don't file a claim, your own personal rate increase will end up paying for everybody else's storm damage repair claims.
Absolutely. We're a fully licensed roof repair contractor, and many houses throughout the area need to have their roofs replaced due to wear and tear. We recommend that you have your roof inspected annually in order to prevent costly repairs in the future.
You can call Bob The Builder, Inc. for a free consultation. A dedicated representative will determine whether your roof needs repairs or needs to be replaced. Certain types of roof damage only needs minor repairs whereas other forms require the whole roof to be ripped off to be replaced. An annual inspection usually prevents the need to have your whole roof removed. We can determine whether or not your roof has been damaged by hail, rain, mildew, wind, ultraviolet light, or other storm factors, and lack of maintenance usually results in moss or algae buildup which can also damage your roof.
This we do not recommend. So-called "quick fixes" have often led to more serious damage generalizing through our experience. It's best if you call us to do any repair work rather than you temporarily fix the problem. You can call for a free assessment at (219) 299-0136 in Indiana or (708) 289-5468 in Illinois. Our team will remedy any siding issue your home may have.
Non-professionals have a difficult time identifying hail damage to asphalt shingles. The symptoms include granule loss, soft spots, puncturing, or bruising. We've even seen cases where the entire reinforcing mat has been ruptured and the bitumen (underlying fibers) is exposed. When this happens, the shingles can no longer deflect water, and water will seep into the roof thereby getting into your home.
If your insurance company pays you the actual cash value due to loss, this will be equal to the replacement cost of the damaged items not including your deductible or depreciation. When it comes to replacing an item or repairs, your insurance company pays you the depreciated amount.
